With the instability in South America these days it does not seem that war is too far way. Ecuador's President had now demanded the resignation of its defense minister along with some other high ranking officials after the latest armed Colombian raid into Ecuador. Ecuador's president is worried that there are American spies in their ranks along with the invasion of the CIA intruding into their intelligence. This could be very well fact but there seems to be no proof of American involvement at this time. Although the United States has been backing Colombia for several years this would be a new level of involvement. It seemed that issues were going to settle down for a while it seems that it was just the calm before the storm.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how this plays out and what the United States role would be in this situation. The United States does have a history of being involved in latin countries such as Nicaragua and Cuba during Reagan and Kennedy years. Both of those instances involved U.S. troops moving into each country with the American public knowing.
I really feel its time for America to sit back on this one. Our economy is hitting low right now and its time to pull up ourselves now rather than others. Granted i understand there are times that we should step in but we have our own problems boiling right now, and lord knows we can improve and work on things in our nation right now. Hopefully with this new presidancy we can accomplish this and then maybe focus on other countries once again!
